5 Types of Shoes Any Fashionista Needs

I’m going to say it… having too many shoes can be stressful when it comes to deciding how you want to tie your whole outfit together. The idea of shelves upon shelves of shoes seems luxurious and all, that is until the daydream ends and reality sets in. In my opinion, shoes can make or break an outfit, so it important to get it right. Having those 5 pairs of staple shoes that you know you can always count on is going to be so very helpful. I have specifically curated this list to cater for all occasions, so you can say goodbye to your shoe hoarding days.

Heeled Boot

Starting off strong with a classic heeled boot. This boot could be ankle high but preferably knee-high. Opting for knee-high is going to cater for those colder days. They work with flowy pants, fitted pants and they work with skirts and dresses. Throw on a pair of tights and you’ve got yourself a chic out already. Chances are you already own a similar boot, however, if you do need to go shopping, try to stay away from overly high heels; as appealing as they are. You want to find something that you can casually wear as well as something you can wear on a night out.

Ballet Flat

The ballet flat is personally my favourite because it’s realistic. Sometimes it isn’t ideal nor feasible to walk around all day in heels, this is why the ballet flat is the perfect solution. It’s a stylish and elegant option while still providing that level of comfort. Consider going for a nude colour, it will add a bit of brightness to the outfit and all in all nude is very in at the moment.

Flat Ankle Boot

Continuing on from the idea of incorporating comfort into your collection, we have a flat ankle boot. This is going to be more of an everyday option; going to the grocery store, dropping something off at the post office, etc. It’s a bit more relaxed choice without completely letting the outfit down. You can’t go wrong with opting for all black leather but even choosing a shoe with a brown-ish sole would be rather tasteful.

White Sneakers

Sometimes “fancy” footwear may not be the look your going for. A good pair of white sneakers might be just the thing your outfit needs to dress it down that little bit. In order to not compromise your class, you will want to stay away from sporty brands such as Nike and Reebok. Instead, opt for a brand like Lacoste or even give departments stores such Myer or David Jones a go.

Black Pumps

Save the best till last right? It’s just a given to have a pair of black pumps included in your shoe collection. Their iconic status and ability to take any outfit from average to leveled up chic is what makes them a must have. There are so many styles when it comes to pumps, including patent, matte, velvet or even lace. I recommend sticking with something more on the simpler side for your first pair; this will ensure versatility. Also remember, sometimes “less is more”; even when it comes to fashion.
